Traron Squadron

Rick has been flying T-6's for 18 years both in formation and as a member of the Cactus Squadron Aerobatic Team based in Phoenix led by Carl Schneider for several years. Rick brings a tremendous amount of experience to TRARON as he has served as TRARON lead from January 2000 until January 2005. Rick continues to serve as a Formation Check Pilot for both the CAF and NATA. Some of his most memorable flights were as lead of large formations at Midland and Oshkosh.

Jim lives in California and flies his own T6.

Larry "Lumpy" Lumpkin

Lumpy lives in Omaha, Nebraska and flies an Airbus A320 as a Captain for United out of Chicago. He began flying in 1978 after 4 years in the Air Force and completed the journey as flight instructor, charter pilot, and airline pilot. Warbirds came into his life in 2001 with a concentrated effort in the Minnesota Wing's T-6. Three years later he was ready to qualify in the CAF P-51 GUNFIGHTER. Lumpy credits the patience of Dr. Morris Ray, Rick Hosking,and Jim Munn, along with others, in his obtaining his Wingman and Lead cards. He looks forward to helping others experience the same demanding, fun, and challenge of formation flying.
