TRARON Lead
John "Skipper" Hyle

Skipper has a Harvard Mk 4 ("J's
Bird") and lives in Georgia. He also sponsors and flies
"Red Nose" the CAF's first airplane, a P-51D. Skipper
has been flying formation for over 7 years in FAST and 9 years prior to
that in the USAF. He was an F16 pilot and a T38 Instructor Pilot.
His current job is Boeing 717 Captain for AirTran Airways. He just
recently received his type rating in the DC-3.

Jim Munn
Jim lives in California and flies his own T6.
Central Region Executive Officer
Larry "Lumpy" Lumpkin

Lumpy lives in Omaha, Nebraska and flies
an Airbus A320 as a Captain for United out of Chicago. He began
flying in 1978 after 4 years in the Air Force and completed the journey
as flight instructor, charter pilot, and airline pilot. Warbirds
came into his life in 2001 with a concentrated effort in the Minnesota
Wing's T-6. Three years later he was ready to qualify in the CAF
P-51 GUNFIGHTER. Lumpy credits the patience of Dr. Morris Ray,
Rick Hosking,and Jim Munn, along with others, in his obtaining his
Wingman and Lead cards. He looks forward to helping others
experience the same demanding, fun, and challenge of formation
flying.
East Coast Executive Officer
John "Tater" Currenti

Tater resides in Georgia and is the
proud owner of an SNJ-5. He is also an active flying sponsor of
the SBD Dauntless Dive Bomber assigned to the Dixie Wing of the CAF.
John has been a FAST formation pilot for the last 5 years as both a
Wingman and Flight Lead. He is also current and qualified as an
F-16 Instructor and Check pilot with the Alabama Air National
Guard. John is a decorated combat veteran with over 22 years and
3000 hours of military fighter experience.
Finance Officer
Mark Novak
Mark Novak is a former Air Force
Academy graduate who flew B1B bombers and KC-1325 tankers until he
retired just recently. Mark is the proud owner of a SNJ which he
flies to numerous CAF events throughout the year. He is a Past
West Texas Wing Leader and is currently serving on the CAF General
Staff. |
