Fellow TRARON Members, 19 March 2006 The TRARON website is up and running. Greg Kinnan has put a lot of time and effort into this and we owe him thanks. Because of Greg’s efforts, you will be able to find out about any local clinics, get the word out about a clinic you want to run, contact any member of the Detachment leadership, and check out news worthy events of the CAF, TRARON and T-6 flying. You will be able to print Formation Proficiency Reports, join TRARON, check out the membership list to find a practice partner in your area, read future newsletters and the list goes on. Now, undoubtedly, there are those out there who don’t like computers (I, too, have been asked if it hurts when my knuckles drag the ground) or do not have one! I suggest you contact a friend or relative who has access to one and ask them if you can use it and their e-mail address. You can also go to a school, public library or business center (hotel, Kinko’s, etc.) and log on. HOWEVER, if you positively are unable or not wanting to connect to TRARON via the internet, please send your name and address to Doug Matthews at the address below and tell him you cannot do the computer thing. For computer literate and capable folks: The website address is www.TRARON.org If you need help of a purely administrative type only, we have a new email address you can use to get directly to admin support: Traron@bellsouth.net If you do have email, look at the roster and see if your email is shown. If your email is not shown, send Doug your email so we’ll have your address. How do you check your information is current and accurate? Go to our document repository www.mydocsonline.com. Log in with "Traron" as the user name and "formation" as the password. You can then see your status and info. Also, if you have any pictures or things you’d like to share, please send them to Greg Kinnan; his address is on the website as webmaster. We are in dire need of pictures and other articles on flying formation or stories about clinics and/or airshows. For each we will need a short bio for the credits, too, so don’t forget that. I would also urge you, if a first time visitor, to read the updates I’ve put out since the first of the year. If you are one of those that want to stay on the snail mail list, we will send those to you also. Some other reminders to everyone: Dues, get them in please. Proficiency Reports, get them in please. Looking through our lists, I know there are those of you I flew with at Riverside that are showing non-current or a year or so out. We are donating some cash to the O’Club so we will have a home for our flags and plaques. We need some pictures, if anybody has any they can reproduce or donate, we’d like to see them with as much information as possible: who’s in it, where, when, etc. VT-1 goes back a long way and we’ll have our little corner to tell our story. You can contact Doug Matthews to tell him your desires to go snail mail at: Doug Matthews-TRARON 11924 Forest Hill Blvd. Suite 22207 West Palm Beach, FL 33414 Check 6, Skipper Skipper Hyle,TRARON Lead |
